Description
Jam-e-Shirin is a sweet, fragrant sharbat syrup loved across Pakistan for generations. Its rich red colour and refreshing taste have made it a favourite during Ramadan, summer afternoons and family gatherings.
For many Pakistani families, a jug of Jam-e-Shirin on the iftar table is a tradition. After a long day of fasting, a glass of chilled sharbat feels refreshing and brings instant relief from the heat.
Making a drink is easy. Mix a few spoons of syrup with chilled water and stir well. Add ice cubes and serve. You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less syrup.
Jam-e-Shirin is also delicious with milk. Mix it with cold milk to make a sweet, pink milkshake that kids especially love. Add a little soaked tukh malanga or gond katira for a traditional twist.
You can also use it in desserts. Drizzle it over falooda, kulfi, ice cream, custard or fruit chaat for a pop of colour and sweetness.
At weddings, mehndi functions and family events, Jam-e-Shirin is often served to guests as a welcome drink. It’s a simple way to show hospitality.
Shake the bottle well before use. Once opened, keep it in a cool place and close the cap tightly after every use.
When the Turkish summer heat kicks in or Ramadan comes around, a glass of chilled Jam-e-Shirin will make you feel right at home.
It’s a familiar taste from Pakistan that every Pakistani in Turkey will instantly recognise. Keep a bottle ready in your kitchen at home.
